Avondale Elementary is a public K through 5 school in DeKalb County, Georgia. Avondale offers the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, focusing on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, at school and throughout life. Avondale Elementary is also a Cognia STEM certified school.

Fall Festival

September 30, 2026

Join your fellow AES family and friends for our Fall Fest which will take place on October 23, from 5:00-7:00 pm. The event will have trunk or treat, a costume contest, food, games, bounce house, and so much more! Sign Up to Volunteer!

Fall Break

September 24, 2026

Enjoy time off for Fall Break! Monday, October 5 is a Professional Development day so no school for students. Fall Break is October 6 - 9. And while Monday, October 12 is Indigenous Peoples' Day / Columbus Day it is not holiday from school. See students back at school on Monday, October 12!

Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser

September 23, 2026

Help us fundraise to help supply Teachers with Grants through the AES Foundation. The fundraiser starts Sept. 23 at 3 pm through Sept. 30 at 3 pm. Learn how to download the app and get started!

School Tour
